Got any kalkwasser handy?

I like making a paste out of kalk, 1 part water, 1 part kalk, suck it up in a syringe, turn off the circulation in the tank, and feed the aiptasia's a nice mouthful of kalk paste. The melt pretty fast.

I've only had to deal with aiptasia in one tank and it wasnt a bad outbreak, so my experience is limited but what I did was mix up hot water and lemon juice and injected it into the base of the anemone. I've heard you can do just hot water, or just lemon juice, either one works on it's own, so I did both just for kicks.

It dilutes quick enough that anything which doesnt make it into the anemone wont kill your zoas around it.

I use kalk, but add one other wrinkle to make it more successful.
I give the aiptasia a piece of food first. It will hold onto the food, and it can't retract all the way into its hole. This makes it a lot easier to stick a syringe into the base and make sure I'm filling the thing up with the kalk. Then I spread a layer of kalk paste over the top of it.

dirty trick - i like it. these things are sooooooooooooo dang small though, even if i got the ones i could see i don't want to risk putting it back in.... im paranoid like that. It is reallllllly nice, i mean REALLY nice, having a pest free tank.

Kind of like a last meal before the execution :)

cooperband butterfly, give him two weeks.

And hope he doesn't eat all your zoas next to the aiptasia.

I've had good luck with the aiptasia eliminate kits you can buy in a store, just use a syringe and inject. My passer angel eats aiptasia, but I don't think that'd work in your situation :)
