Best method to check salinity?

refractometer works great!

I'm considering upgrading to a digital one soon. eyes kinda bad

I personally use the this one and all I can say is WOW!

It's just so easy and I it holds calibration for a very long time it seems. I have calibrated it twice in about 4 months and the second time I calibrated it was just to make me feel better.

The calibration was right in point!!

If you want to buy something once that will make water changes a breeze do yourself a favor and buy one of this.

IMO, a good conductivity meter is somewhat better than a refractometer because it has more uses for us (such as limewater potency) and can read in real time (like during acclimation). :)

I used a swing arm for many years. Way easy, however you need to check it against a refractometer occasionally. Mine eventually became inaccurate. Who knows when exactly. Switched to a refractometer about 6 years ago, with the solution to check it, they can't be beat.
