could i host a nice looking nem with the 24g AP hood fixture? is it possible.... i know that its a small aquarium and that they move around alot. but i could always cover my powerheads... post what u think! thanks

Well friend you just opened up a can of worms. Some say you can some say you cant, some say you get lucky some say you wont. Me personally I have a 24g jbj nano and have had two bubble tip anemones in it the first stayed in the same spot and never moved. Dunno why I got rid of it but now I have a rbta and so far it is doing fine and it has not moved either.

whats ur lighting? and where at in the aquarium did you stick him?

lol and yes im sure i did open that can...fully opened most likely :P

Mine did well for about 1 1/2" years but then got bleached when the tank overheated. I've since upgraded to a chiller and have been feeding him well since the bleaching indecent. He is slowly regaining his color. It seems to me that nems get food from 2 places, the algae within them and the food you feed them. if you are able to supplement with food then they will be OK with mediocre light but do watch your temps and water quality carefully.

well...with sufficient lighting i would say its doable...although becareful i would stay away from carpets, and it seems certain strains of BTA get reaaaaaly big and some stay really small....go figure... i had one in my tank for almost 4 months and it got huuge almost 15-17" across. while my friend has had one longer never got more then about 4-5inches and would split.....

when i say big the clown on the bottom is about 3"

If it is only the PC hood, then I would say no. If you have the sunpod then I would say it is possible.

The problem with anemones is they can get up to a foot across. Have you measured your tank? It is about 18"

What else do you hope to have in there? If you plan on having corals, I would say forget it.

That being said, there is a local to me that has a GBTA in a 34g, and it was in a 12g before that. Every time it starts to get too big it splits. It did fine for about a year, now he wants to get rid of it because it goes for walks all over his prized corals. Nearly stung his ORA birdsnest to death. Now he wants it gone. Just something to keep in mind.

i had a rose on my AP but with the sunpod fixture, it eventually got quite large and began to sting everything else.
