Best ozone generator

Whats the best ozone generator for a 240 gal reef. I don,t need one with built in orp controller or a air drier , because I already have those.
thanks.

I like my Ozotech and have read good things about them. They make 'industry' ozone generators so they are better quality. I'd recommend one of theirs.

i read it in another forum.. They are imported from Germany. People compared the 2 and the sanders owners said that it gave the most consistant orp levels in their tanks, required less tweeking,.. i used to subscribe to the thread but deleted it after i bought the sanders.

I was about to buy a Ozotech Poseiden...until I found out that their tech support does not exist. I left messages and sent e-mails - 2 months later, NO RESPONSE!

After owning Sandpoint, Ultralife, Red Sea and Enaly over the past 20 years...I am finally quite satisfied with the performance of Sander ozone generators. Very high quality unit. I don't know of another company that has been making ozone generators as long as Sander.

ozone?

ozone?

why would you use ozone??
it seems it seems to have more potencial negitive and negitive effects than positive in a reef tank.

I use 2 different generators. I have a 50 mg Red sea unit with a controller and a probe that runs 24/7, and a 200 mg Enaly unit that I run as needed to supplement the Red Sea. They are both t'd into the same air line going into my ASM skimmer.

My tank is a 300, and the 50 mg unit will only keep the ORP at around 300 Mv running 24/7. If I had it to do over, I would get at least a 200 mg unit for a large tank that has a heavy nutrient load like mine. I also change 45 gallons of water per week.

Tagareef,
Are the Sanders units controllable by themselves (without an ORP controller) or are they strictly on/off like the Enaly's?
Sean

I have a Red Sea, it is a 50 mgr controlled by my aquacontroller II, it keeps my ORP at 380-400.
But honestly I would try another brand next time.

The skimmer might produce less skimmate because there are less organics in the water, obviously because the O3 oxidizes it.
Anyway, a skimmer wonÃ"šÃ‚´t remove a lot of organics that O3 does, and ozone clears the water and leaves it pristine.

but ozone dose romove the organic it just reactes to it, cooking it. but it is still it the aquarium just in a sterilized state right?

It oxidizes it.
Ozone is a very oxidant (does that word exist?) gas, so any organic that comes in touch with it will be oxidized.
Good luck

but ozone dose NOT romove the organic it just reactes to it, cooking it. but it is still it the aquarium just in a sterilized state right?

sterilize, oxidize, nutralize, it is still in the water after this occures right? i can see how it would help in nutralize the chemicals warfare that corals put off, soft corals in particular.

i can also see how it would be advantages in a hi flow reaction unit ( down draft skimmer or chamber). but in a low flow skimmer like NW it seems that it would defete the purpose of a long dwell time skimmer.
