Best place to drip kalk

In my sump,goes overflow out to skimmer heater baffle, floss baffle, baffle lr chaeto baffle, more lr and return pump

No powerhead in sump as I want a lower flow rate to encourage pod growth.

I was dripping kalk above the return pump about 4 inches, but there's not so much water movement and it builds up on the waters surface.

Would this area of my sump where I drip kalk have such differing water conditions to inhibit pod growth?
Any negative affect to dripping in same area as skimmer?

You want to drip kalk in a high flow area with minimal amount of pumps. When i had a sump, i dripped it where my overflow pipe entered as it would allow for a good mix. On the other hand, when i tried to drip it in the section with my return, i ended up heavily building up calcium deposits in my pump and had to clean it regularly.

To answer your questions, no kalk will not harm pods unless it is not thoroughly mixed. And as before, if it is not mixing thoroughly, there will be a higher chance of calcium build up in your skimmer pump.
