Best place to get glass locally?

I need some glass for baffles in my sump. I got some from ace, took it home, cut it and silicone it in. The refugium side, being the space holding the most water, the glass was bowing out a bit from the pressure. So I need some thicker stuff. Anybody have any ideas where to get glass?

I had all of my baffles cut from "The Glass Shop". They did a great job and no extra charge for cleaning up the edges.

I had 4 baffles cut that are 3/8's inches thick, 16 inches tall and 12.5 inches wide for 17$.

Would be a decent drive for you, but hope that helps.

I use Glass Busters for my sump baffles several years ago and now Arcadia Glass for my latest overflow. Both did good work, pretty much the same quality work, and for very reasonable prices.

My suggestion to you would be find the shops that are closest to you and compare their prices. I say this because you will probably eat any savings by driving farther in both gas and time spent.

Get another piece from Ace and silicone it in, AND to the other piece. Essentially laminating the 2 pieces together.

If you're on the west side of town, try Glendale Glass off 51st ave and Glendale.

DO NOT use Glendale Glass, Just called them, explained what I wanted, and they said I had to pay $27 per piece of glass. That is their minimum charge for 3 square feet of glass, and they would not cut anymore than one piece from each section. I explained that in 3 square feet of glass, I could get everything I needed, and he said, "it doesn't matter; you are charged a 3 sq ft minimum for every piece of glass you get."

Shame, too. They are easily the closest to me, but I will try the first few you all mentioned.

Well that's a new one on me.. So far they've cut a half dozen smaller pieces without imposing anything like that. I guess they need to pay better attention to who's answering the phone..
