I've had and Elegance coral for about a year now, and it has been on the bottom of the tank. Is there a better spot for it? If it helps I have a 55gallon w/ dual 175 watt M.H. + an IceCap 660 pushing 2 super actinics.
really depends on flow..........
i have a 75 gallon, with only a biowheel rated for a 75 gallon one koralia 1 and a 2 for flow....
i put it anywhere near a fan or mild flow it seriously hates it and retracts........
also keep in mind that if you move it up you are going to have to worry about it getting burned from your halide. there is a good elegance thread on this board with a guy who keeps a bunch of em who warns about too much light too soon. if you move it, i would move the halide up and then slowly, over weeks move it down to where the light was originally. if you start seeing brown stuff come out of its mouth, this is possibly it expelling its photosynthetic algae, which is possibly bad.
these corals are weird.
it also depends if it is from australia (likes more light, more tolerant of changes in light) or from indonesa (collected from deeper water, likes less light).
