Best pump for my AP 24

I want to upgrade my AP 24 and I have read that the maxijet 1200 is the best replacement pump. Does it run hot? and quiet?

a mj1200 will run hot get a mj900 instead.

I did a rio 1400, had to rig it to fit the AP tube with some of the accesories, the one with the male strainer will fit in the tube. Also removed the casing so it's just the pump. Was close to drilling the back and fitting a bulkhead for a closed loop but I refuse to let my obsession get the best of me this time.

I have 2 MJ1200's in my 24g without any heat issues. One is the return pump and the other is a closed loop feading from the display.
