Best Reef Store In Northern NJ

Hey all, fellow NJ reefer, located in Warren County. Was looking through different threads and came across the thread that listed the various popular fish stores through the area. I understand that it is dated quite a bit so looking for a few suggestions on where you guys would recommend going for a variety of corals/livestock!

Check out Absolutely Fish in Clifton. It's the best in the Bergen/Passaic County area. Staff if highly knowledgeable and friendly. Just picked up my Helfrichi fish from them today.

Heard great things about Elos as well...but have yet to go there.

NJ Corals Direct on MR is a vendor and they are great for corals in Bergen County.

Also Sea Level Aquarium in Pine Brook is good.

Elos is a great store little pricey: find them to be knowledgable and friendly enough to talk to
Abso has huge selection, prices vary from ok to high. Depending on what staff member you get dictates your experience. This is the closest to my house so I've been countless times. Sea level is ok, very friendly staff limited in size though
Acc in central jersey is excellent too, good selection, very good pricing, and extremely friendly knowledgable staff
I haven't bought a fish in lfs in quite awhile usually from private vendors or people on threads like this one
Nj corals direct is close to my work, Will is great to deal with and prices are sweet that Brando mentioned above

Reviving this thread, recently visited ELOS in Shorthills NJ and all I can say is WOW. If you have any interest in reefing you need to visit this store. It is simply stunning.

I was in Elos on Friday.. Larry hooked me up with some KILLER frags, one being a stunning rainbow acan. Prices were the best ive come across yet. They are still #1 in my book.
Friendly, knowledgeable, patient and their livestock is jaw dropping.
They've become my go to for corals.

Talked with larry as well! Very helpful and he's ready to wheel and deal which is great on already fair priced corals.

Aquatic Obsessions

Aquatic Obsessions

Aquatic Obsessions in Avenel. Nice store, reasonable price.

How about customer service?

I hit AO (http://www.aquatic-obsessions.com/) once or twice a month.

Will is a fair and knowledgeable owner. Check out the 180 display tank. He doesn't like to carry drygoods that he wouldn't use himself.

Everything is reasonably priced. He gets livestock in weekly and sends out email listings of the new arrivals, often with sale items (Female Bellus Angels are $80 on the most recent list). It is the only store I know of that posts the arrival date of a fish along with the price, and that can make you a more intelligent buyer.

Caveat - the good stuff goes fast. On several occasions now I have intentionally gone back the following week to see how a particular fish was doing, only to find that that the fish had been sold - he who hesitates is lost. He will keep his eye out for specific livestock for you if you are a regular customer. Will likes to keep Fairy Wrasses and nice Angels in stock. If you don't see one you like, he probably just sold it.

The invert and frag selections are good.

He has a good relationship with the NJRC. Card Carrying members get 15% off livestock and even get a special discount on their birthdays. He also frequently donates frags to the meetings for their raffles.

Another caveat - it can get a little crowded there on weekends, especially during a sale.

Yet another caveat - your GPS may have a hard time finding the store.
