Best saltwater fish store in the valley?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what the best saltwater fish store in the valley is?

As far as price and selection.

It seems as though a lot of them went out of business since I left the hobby a few short years ago. Now that I am getting back into it, I can't really seem to find any....

Just Pets has the largest selection in the valley and gets new fish at least once a week. Corals you have to time right, they come in sporadically and get picked over fast. Prices are comparable to anyone else locally

Yes, I was actually in there yesterday, I guess the guy who used to manage Pet World over on College Ave owns it, nice guy. I remember him talking about trying to buy Pet World when it was still open, guess that didn't work out.

Their ad says "Guaranteed Low Prices!", "Will Match All Competitors!", so when I was in there I asked the guy if they matched "ALL" competitors, and he said yeah. I think he knew what I was getting at - internet prices.

I would love to buy from a local merchant and help them out rather than someone across the country.

so are you saying just pets matches prices with the internet?
Their ads say "All Competitors"....

I dont mean to sound like a jerk or a nitpicker here..... BUT

You stated that you think he knew you were getting at internet prices...

I believe the old adage about assuming should apply here and would encourage you or anyone else to go in there and be very specific in whose prices will and will not be considered.

Personally, I think it is ludicrous for a local guy to meet an internet competitor's price without shipping...

We're not going to have to go through a whole Clintonesque "that depends on what the meaning of the word IS, is", are we? lol :p

And, yeah, I agree, the total internet price you pay would include shipping...

:fish1:

They can get pretty good prices on tanks too. Just because they dont have them doesnt mean they cant get them. I think you have to pre pay for them but they are cheaper than anyone around.

You can get salt for the catalog price, but you must drinve to Reinlander to pick it up. - I just happen to be lucky enough to have someone who goes that way about every 6-8 weeks.

Don't you work at Just Pets (thus the "JP" part)?? I thought you said that somewhere in another thread.
