Best sand cleaner?

What does everyone think the best critter do clean my sand will be. It's starting to look a little gross and I want to get it back to being white again. DT is 120 gallon - 6' long. Sand bed is 1-1.5" in depth.

My thought is either going with a diamond goby or a sand sifting star, my concern for the sand sifting star is that my tank may not be big enough. Thoughts?

the diamond goby is wonderful. that is if you set your rock on the bottom of of your tank rather than on top of sand.

I love my diamond goby, he can be a butthead sometimes, covering what ever coral I have on the sand bed or taking a mouthful of sand and swimming up and releasing it, OR completely removing all the sand in one area and putting it in the another area

I had a Tiger goby for 3 years which was awesome at cleaning the sand bed, but never buried corals. IMO they are more interesting than diamond gobies.

How are these guys with critters that live in sand? Do they leave them alone or will they eat them? I've been wanting to pick up a diamond goby but was worried that he'd decimate a huge population of spaghetti worms, micro brittle stars, and other beneficial life that resides in my sand.

I have not seen my goby touch any of those things

+1 for the diamond goby. Picked up one last week. Huge sandstorm in my tank the first couple of days but it has all settled and the sand looks immaculate once again!

twin spot goby! Love mine, you could get 2 in that tank for sure. Never had any issue with mine crop dusting with sand or digging out too far under rocks... hes been a great addition to my reef

Hands down a Petrochirus diogenes hermit crab. They get huge though so eventually you need to get rid of them but nothing will keep the sand cleaner without burying stuff.
