Best Schooling Fish??

I am about to stock a 750 with fish in two or three weeks and we wanted to run a large school of fish in it but I can't decide what would look the best... so I ask you what do you like the most?

A really big shoal of glass cardinals would be awesome. But I think that someone once said that they are actually boring. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

great link, that looks like a school of blue chromis too, in this 750 there is no reason not to run multiple schools. Thanks for the feedback I look forward to everyone else's thoughts too.

Anyone ever kept Parapriacanthus guentheri?

lookdowns or blue n yellow fusiliers. predatory fish but i bet you you could keep a school of ten in that tank. would be sweet

I too would go with a lot of glass cardinals (threadfins/blue eyes) they shoal tightly and look stunning in a large group.
Green chromis also look nice in large groups.
Bar gobies (dartfish) and scissortail gobies (dartfish again) shoal pretty well too in decent sized groups.
Fussilers look nice, but get big.

How about coral catfish or engineer goby, they are good candidate too.

Coral cats look awesome when young and grouped. Then they turn horrible and solitary.

And they are so nervous! Bad choice for anything but a public aquarium IMO.

I would think so. It really depends on how long the tank is, if it is 10-12 feet I would definitely think so. Get them together in a group when small (around 3 inches or so) and they should shoal just fine.

i have two lookdowns in a 220 been there just over 8 months doing great. a 600 gallon aquarium would be fine. they usually stay tight together. i have one about 6 in and they other is about 9 in. i think they max out at about a foot.
