Best set up in new tank

Hi Roger,

Can you pm me as I am trying to figure out the best set up in a custom tank to set up the turbeles.


Specifically, since a new custom tank can be configured as I want as well as overflows and anything else, I want it to be set up as best as possible for the turbelles.

Can you give me some guidelines? The streams will work with just about anything. If you wanted perfect, a Euro floating bottom glass tank with 1/2" glass and no perimeter bracing is what it is built for as this is 50% of all tanks in Europe. Outside of this anything else will be a compromise of sorts.

Hi Roger,

thanks for the reply. I like the holes drilled in the top of the tank in order to place the power cord and bracket to hold the unit.

My real question is how to hide the units themselves in the tank. Perhaps a piece of acrylic on the corner of the tank that the unit can "sit" behind. Or perhaps just hide them behind some live rock. I am not sure if there is anything that someone has done in order to keep the units as hidden as possible.

Unfortunately this is the only one, this was my idea, we where trying to find the ultimate answer to unsightly pumps and after numerous complicated solutions I developed a simple one. At present it is entirely hand made of ceramics and a machined coupler is installed with silicon to accept the pump. I hope to get some in soon- maybe about 5 weeks- when I get them I will try to get at least a couple dozen and I will let you know.

Well that fixes the Tunze question for me...my only hold back was the appearance of the pumps in the tank!
