Best shrimp to keep in a reef tank

My vote is for cleaners. Get 2, then they will almost always be carrying eggs.

If you want to add a second cleaner shrimp to a tank, how do you know the males from females or do they switch sex like clownfish do?

i love cleaner shrimp because they are excellent cleaners. i remember when my blue hap tang got ich and i was debating on what route to go, chemical, dips, or cleaner shrimp. i got the shrimp because i have alway thought that they are cool looking. the ich was gone in about a week, it was awesome to watch them in action. sexy shrimp are cool, peppermint are cool. and i have been debating about a pistol because of all the cool things that i have heard. but i still am afraid of them eating other tank mates, because i have seen that video.

They are all both sexes, so both will be carrying eggs.

I recently added a BTA to my tank and the peppermints harras it. Even when it I am not feeding. The BTA curls itself up. The peppermints also harrassed a few other small corals that were on the LR causing them to withdraw into themselves and rarely come out.

I got them to eat a few aptasia (which they did not do) and until I got the BTA....I was going to leave them in the tank. I think I am going to take them out if I can catch them.
