Best skimmer for a 180g?

What is the best external skimmer you can get for a 180g that is under $400?

there is an mr3 used in the selling section here for $225.00 then you get a good pump for sub 200, Only reason i didnt' grab it, is the best pump for it is a genx 55, thing runs 170watts.. ouch but its good for up to 500gallons?

why not just run a mag pump on it?

Beckett skimmers really should be run on a pressure rated pump, which are all external. It will run on a MAG but you will wasting a lot of the skimmers potential.

didn't know that... Would it run on a panworld, iwaki, or velocity?

Yes, yes and not sure for the Velocity.

If you are really looking for an external skimmer,I would advise against the ASM's , they leak. For that budget I would look into a nice venturi or becket, these both need a good pressure pump. Maybe look for a used setup, or used skimmer/new pump.
