You read that one should buy a bigger skimmer just in case you upgrade, I say bull! With bigger skimmer you only end up running the skim wet. Constantly adjusting it to skim better because it's idel. Adjust and adjust to produce the foam froth, only to have it constantly over flowing.
Look at your water volume, what your bio load will be and buy according. Spent a little more the first time and be over with it. In trying to save a dime we spend a dollar.
Reef octopus ,bk ,tunze, esshopps,Itec ect, read up ,be selective, some will always tell this brand is better than that!!!

The omega 150 looks nice watched a video on it looks nice and don't have to worry about a new skimmer if upgrading up to a 150 gallon I like the knob to reduce the amount of air I'll think about it

I like to size the skimmer to the bioload of the tank. Keep in mind more fish poop more skimming for DOC's. If you prefer to skim wet or dry it depends on the water height around the skimmer. This is for in-sump skimmers though. I have 0 experience with external skimmers.

I have always gone with a skimmer that can handle double my tank size and never have wet skim mate. Its always dark and thick.
