Best sps for a mixed reef set up

Hi guys I want to set up a list of sps to acquire in the near future. I set up a 100 gallon tank and want to add the best compatible type of sps for a mixed reef tank.


Let me know guys! I would like your expertise help!

Montis , green slimmer, Pocillopora stuff like that are good. Try a milli if these do well.

Monticaps are cool when grown together if that is what you mean by compatibility. Those are the only ones that I would put close together personally.

Will encrusting monti's overtake each other?

no they grow around each other pretty well i out my sps pretty close i think it looks better and they usually wont grow into each other kinda sense each are there

I have a mixed reef and the best growing SPS are def monti caps and encrusting,any and all birdsnest,and digitata montipora.. Just got some Rose Mille frags a week ago time shall tell..

With a mixed reef it's a balancing act on nutes.. Too low LPS and zoas in my tank are not happy. Too high and SPS are not happy. You will find out what is best for your tank as all are different. With mine acros are the most difficult to keep happy in my tank parameters although I have a ORA tri color valida that has amazing color compared to other acros that are slightly browned out. Green Slimer does well too. Good luck on the mixed reef..
