best to feed anemones??

Welcome to reef central...small pieces of any kind of raw sea food is good. Squid, silversides, raw shrimp, scallops or mysis shrimp will do.

thanks!! im glad to be part of here and learn a little more about salt water.. i currently have a 30G. i am just going mainly reef.. i purchased a long tentacle anemone for my clown fish.. and i was not so sure you had to feed them.. but i feed him some silvertides last night and he ate umm uppp.. and then my clown went in but he would not go in befor i feed him is that the reason why?

Mine seemed to spit out silversides. I use prime reef. I alternate soaking it between zoe and selcon.

yeah i fed mine silversides, for the most part although when i had left over mysis from feeding i would pour it into the nem

Anemones don't have a central nervous system and do not learn at all. They like to eat whatever they got when they were baby anems. They may not recognize other food items. You may have to try a couple things - it's very individual

also one more question.. my clown will only go in around bed time he knoes when i shut my light off everynight and right after i shut it off he goes in.. any ideas?

i use mysis or brine shrimp bloodworms put it in turkey baster release it slow she grabs the baster wraps around it she is now 22 years old and beautiful

Be happy that they come out? Mine only come out to eat. I'm pretty sure there isn't 'normal' for clowns. My percs just stop swimming when the lights go out and float at the top. Took me a long time to get over that.
