Best type/brand of kalkwasser?

Mrs. Wages pickling lime. you can find it in many grocery stores, or in WalMart in the kitchenware section near the canning jars. almost the same as the stuff packaged for the hobby but lots cheaper

from what I have heard the pickling lime is kind of hard on the impellers on your pumps. You might have to ask someone who uses it though. It also might be worth it with the money that you save to just replace the impeller from time to time.

thats a good point, personally i use 2 resevoirs for topping off and dosing kalk, i wont allow my pump to come into contact with lime
