HI Mr Tunze! Im looking to have a sump made. First question they asked is skimmer water level. I run the in sump standpipe method. I understand from the directions that the water level can be set from around 4in all the way to 10! So what whould be ideal?

Also currently running about 6in of water and my skim is thin green tea color. Anyway to thicken it up?

I generally recommend 6" but the water level would not have an impact if water is exiting that standpipe. Basically, the water level inside is the height of the pipe, regardless. I recommend 6" for a safety margin from keeping the pump running dry and it is kind of a standard sump depth.

Ok. I didnt go with the custom sump. I did purchase Trigger 30in long sump. The operating depth is 10in. So do I build a 4in stand or do I convert the 9011 back to the in tank vesion?

10" should work, up to 11" is OK. 10" is too low for operation without the stand pipe.
