Hey Everyone,

What is your opinion on the best way to acclimate rics?

Do they need to be dipped in freshwater in case there are flatworms on it?

Thanks,
D

I usaully just float them and drop them drop them in if they are locally purchased. Otherwise using a bucket and airline tubing and airline to drip acclimate would probobly be best. I wouldn't dip them in freshwater I have never heard of this being done with rics.

The ones that I get from a florida diver are floated in the tank to get the temp up. Once this is done I just add some of my water in with the water in the bag slowly. This usually lasts about 1.5-2 hours. I have had very good luck . Make sure that all water paramiters are great. That is the one thing that they don't do well with is poor conditions after being stressed out. Mine come out in a day or two.

Float, dip in fresh water (people keeps rics and zoos together most of the time, and I don't want anything eating my zoos...), shake, dip, shake, dip, shake, dip and swish for a few seconds, toss into my QT for 8 weeks.
