Best way to acculmate SPS

I have to say over the years and reading lots of articles. I have even seen Wholesalers ship corals using the "damp" method. with just wet newspaper. If they can handle that then I'm sure they can handle a 20 min temp adjustment by floating then being put straight into tank.

Some people (including myself) take them out of the bag, glue them to a piece of LR and let them sit out of the water for about 10 minutes. Then just put them in the tank. It's amazing how easy it really is....

im using this same method too!:D

Get a bottle of Tropic marine Coral Dip to get rid of red bugs and the acro eating flat worms then set up a QT tank to wait for the their eggs to hatch follow with another treatment for total of 3 dips in 6 weeks. This is I guess a proper way of acclimating a new frag, you really don't want to introduce any of the bugs and FW to your SPS tank, they can multiply very quickly if left unchecked.

I've not heard of this being an effective method for getting rid of red bugs.

FWIW, I QT all new corals in a 5 gal GT tank with interceptor for a min of 12 hours before they go into the main tank.

So the interceptor treatment gets rid of their eggs? I'm assumeing it does, since JB NY is not worried and putting corals strait in the tank after his interceptor treatment.

Red bugs do not have eggs, are you thinking of acro flatworms?

Either way, Do they need to be worried about after the interceptor treatment? Like I said, JB NY does'nt seem worried about them and is putting his sps corals strait in the tank after his interceptor treatment.
