Best way to avoid gurgle noise....

My two inbound water lines into the sump have a 45* elbow on it and it's right at the water level. I've moved it under the water, over the water and 1/2 way in the water and can't seem to get rid of the loud gurgle noise.

I'm thinking that this would also hold true the skimmer and Zeo Reactor as well.

What are people using to fix this?

put a tee on the outlet with one end pointing up and one end pointing into the sump. on the top of the tee put a cap with a small hole drilled into the top. put a piece of pipe on the bottom of the tee extending about 1" below the sump water level...no more noise.

You talking about a couple of these?

With your T4 your going to need (2) 3" versions.

I thought you trying to quiet down the noise in your sump, & prevent splashing/salt creep.

Annita says she has your fish order. Does that include a black tang?

Here's a variation of the same question. I have a 3" drain coming from my display and drains into my sump. If I drill a hole on top of the last 90 elbow before it drops into the sump and put a vent can I achieve the same effect or do I need to put a tee there? Here's a picture for reference. The very last elbow is the one I'm refereing to.

Seeing that you have a long horizontal run of pipe. Alot of the bubbles should work their way out before the last 90. But you are going to need some type of U tube (to direct the water down into the sump) in case water decides to come out of the hole on top.

This is an overflow return. It removes the bubbles before they get into your sump. Air vents out the top, water exits the holes in the bottom. Keeps the splashing/noise to zero/nada/nothing.
