normally i just drop my zoa frags in a 50/50 solution of tank water and hydrogen peroxide, or use a toothbrush and brush it off.

both methods concern me when it comes to chalice frag.

thoughts?

I think a Chalice will be ok but from what I have heard from some local fraggers I would use a 4:1 (water to peroxide) ratio instead of 50/50.

If not that do you have any other coral dip handy? Like Revive, CoralRX or Seachem DIP? I prefer Revive and a little elbow grease since it doesnt seem to stress the coral at all.

how long do you let coral sit in hydrogen peroxide water? first time ive heard of these methods pretty interesting would this work with getting green hair algae off rocks for future reference.

I let them sit until I'm done with tank maintenance. That's a little too long for some and they bleach but I've never had any die. Just takes time for them to color back up. One thing I do instead of letting them sit in it is take a tooth brush and dip it in peroxide then swab the algae infested area. That works too.

Most of the frag guys who use this say 3-5 minutes in the 4:1 dip, seems to work really well on algae.

Not sure I would dip live rock in this, as it may kill more than you want and may cause a mini-cycle after puting it back in. On rock the best bet is to figure out the cause of the algae and stop it there.

ill try a 4:1 dip, hopefully it wont hurt, this is a recovering frag so i dont want to stress it more.

as for dipping corals in hydrogen peroxide solution in general..
i have forgotten and left them in there for an hour without loss.
i usually aim for about ten minutes though and yes it works on green hair.
