Best way to get truly alternating flow?

Hi Guys,

Can the wireless controllers handle being turned on and off by a different controller like an Aquacontroller 3? I know the old non-wireless controllers had problems with having the power cycled off and on repeatedly.

I'm trying to get truly alternating flow in my tank, on something like a 10 minute alternating cycle.

I have been told by Eco-Tech that the WWD has eliminated the code corruption problem, so they feel that the pumps can be turned on and off. I guess that could help those who have controllers and want a night mode. You could shut half the pumps down for the night period I guess, but that would leave the other hal running at whatever flow rate they are set at.

Jon's right, the WWD does not have a code-corruption problem so turning the pump on and off with an aquarium controller shouldn't be a problem.

But what about damage to the actual pump itself? Tim had told me a year ago or so that if you turn the pump on/off it should be at an interval of 15 minutes or more. Has that all changed now?

Cycling the power to the new driver won't cause any major damage. However, it's obviously not the best idea to be turning any microprocessor driven product on and off too frequently. With the wave controlling features of the WWD, I don't see why anyone would want to turn the pump on and off more than a handful of times in a day, or just at night.

What about using the X10 moduels for turning them on/off I beleve while back I herd that they can damage the power supply? (since when they are "off" there is still a small amount of voltage)
