Best way to remove ugly, uncontrollable zoas?

I have these greyed out, ugly zoas that are overtaking all of my brightly colored zoas and palys. I have a huge rock and it is completely covered and they are spreading everwhere. It's too
bad thEy are ugly. I would rather just kill the ones that are invading too close.

I tried injecting Kalk paste. They just laughed at me.

I have injected a thick kalk paste and been able to kill any zoas. The trick is to turn off every bit of flow in your tank. Drop thick paste on them and they will close up and burn off. Keep the flow off for as long as possible. I usually keep the flow off for at least six hours if not more.

I made a kalk paste with vodka to kill off some palys, I actually used a tru syringe with a 22 gauge needle and injected them. they died rather quickly

Anyone interested in trade for these colonies?

Anyone interested in trade for these colonies?

I removed the big zoa colony rock and put into my QT with 5 other zoa colonies. In case anyone wants to trade and needs to take up space. If anyone wants to see them, pm me your cell and I can send text pic of the colonies in my QT.

For the ones that creeped up on my colorful ones, I've injected with thick kalk Paste with 22 guage syringe earlier. I stuck it right into the suckers, the stalk, the head and they shriveled but I think they are still alive. I didnt try to turn the flow off yet. If they weren't getting to close to my high end zoas I wouldn't care because they are very healthy.

I agree with injecting them....I use an insulin syringe, and it works great!!!!!!!!
I use HOT water and enough Kalk mixed in it until it starts to percipitate while being stirred.....then just suck some up in a syringe and go to work. remember after it sits a little while it will need stirred to keep the kalk concentrations, in the water high enough. the trick though is not clogging the needle....(HINT: keep the needle out of the kalk that has fallen out of the solution and is on the bottom of the container you are mixing it in.)

Thats why I use the vodka mix method, you can put about a tablespoon of kalk into 10-15 ml of vodka and get the kalk concentration really high, it counteracts the ph spike of the kalk but frys the zoa with a huge amount of alkalinity. I started using this mix for aptasia, then used it on some GSP, then I had some misc palys or zoas that were popping up and hit them as well. Didn't have any adverse affects and so far 2 weeks later all has died....well the GSP is coming back a bit....

use caution cause it is a huge amount of organic carbon and kalk. I usually dose 3-4 ml of vodka so shooting 5-6 ml wasn't a huge shock to system, i also shut of two part dosing for a day after that much kalk addition.
