So I was doing my morning feed and saw this weird object sweep by my peripheral view. What on gods green earth is this? My yellow watchman pistol shrim share same burrow. I was about to yank it with my forceps but thought I might want to know what it might be before I posibly yank my whole structure down. Huge Bristle worm? Starfish? Crappy photos

You want to see creepy?

There is a video on youtube of what happens when you seriously overfeed and the bristle worms run amuck. They literally plug up his plumbing there is so many of them. He pulls them out of his pipes by the thousands!

The creepy ones are the 5+ft bobbit/eunice worms,etc.. people pull out of their plumbing wondering why the flow has slowed down..

Whew! Good to know. Almost took a day off of work to come up with a plan! However, when you guys say its a good one I assume he wont bother my goby or pistol shrimp? I been wondering why the pair has been poking out of a differnt hole. That thing looks like it can do some damage how big it is. Lol. Guess I'll read a bit more about them

P.S. I know one of you told me to turn down my blues when I photo. But I freaked a bit and forgot to grab my controller! Lol

They are detrivores, their mouths are like big straws. Unless it's dead and decaying(sludge), they cannot eat it.

Yea you'll be amazed at all the forms of life you'll find in your tank. A healthy tank is full of stuff from copepods to bristle worms to brittle starfish. Fun to watch everything live together and form an ecosystem.

I had a decent sized one that got pretty brave. When I'd feed the last anemone I had he'd try to steal the food from it. Finally got ahold of it and into the sump it went.

Good lord! That is something I hope to not encounter until my son grows up a bit. "Hey son you want some ice cream?" "Well come on over here?"

If you got one you have more. Just don't touch. Nasty sting. But you will eventually get stung. I think we all have been. You know, I just need to move that a bit so I will skip the gloves

I know right. Just like the "I'll never flood my floor during a water change" a matter of when. Lol
