Better polyp extension

I have great growth in all of my corals sps , lps, softies.

I have pretty good polyp extension on most if not all of my sps corals. I also have rather good color not amazing color but enough to please. I would like rather hairy corals.

What should I look into so I can get better polyp extension?

I've read that if the coral is doing good then its "ok" to not have crazy PE. I think that doesn't make any sense. I've also read they more poly extension the corals has they more "starved" the corals is ...doesn't make sense cause the people I know that have crazy polyp extension are fast growers and great color.

And I did try not feeding my sps for a month and I saw no less and no more polyp extension.

I have no fish that are picking at corals, no known pests. My tank temp is a stable 80'f and 125 salinity and it stays stable cause I top of at two to three times in the day so I have little to no swing. My closed loop is my only main flow and it is very random.

Thanks.

This I realize, but why I ask this is a year ago I received a frag of a "red" millepora and for the first half year it was very hairy and now it's not as hairy but more fuzzy this cora has grownl from a one inch frag to larger than a soft ball in the time I've had it so its "healthy" just not as happy looking in my eyes. Its odd that it is doing so good but the polyps are more retracted now than when I purchased.
