BHAM Frag Swap??

I made the 2-hour trip down there, and I haven't been to Montgomery since I went the first time in 5th grade 14 years ago. The upcoming B'ham swap didn't play much into my decision. I saw the great coral being offered for sale and the awesome raffle items, so I made the trip down there. I thought y'all did a great job with everything, and I spent two months' worth of my coral budget at the swap. That's the most coral I've bought at one time. If I had any more money, I would have spent it. I'm really hoping some of the same vendors will be at the B'ham swap because there were still lots of pieces I would have liked to get.

Wicked and BHAMR6 -

I'm very glad you guys came down and even happier that you had a good time. Thanks also for the kind words regarding the organization and preparation for the event.

I have nothing but the best wishes for your upcoming event. Its success will be to everyone's benefit. I certainly think we have enough reefers in the state to support two swaps in a year, especially two that are rather centrally located. And since (if we're all honest with each other) we'll admit that we're all coral junkies, I'm sure you will get a good turnout. Like I said, I plan to be there if tank space allows it. My original posting was only an expression of a hope for cooperation on timing in the future (i.e. next year and the years after), which both of you echoed.

So again, thanks for the support of everyone who attended our event, wherever you came from, and the best of luck for your swap in Birmingham on June 6th. I am sure you will have a great turnout.

Are we seriously having this conversation? LIke 2 people who show upon this forum didn't go to Montgomery because of the Bham one that was planned. Maybe 2. Could be 1. I gotta tell ya. I would go to one in Bham one week and then one in Montgomery the next week for three months straight. If I had the time of course. I don't think it made any difference in the Montgomery turnout whatsoever. While I do think we should coordinate the dates, I don't think this was as big of a deal as you guys are making it out to be. The only people in the entire universe who knew we are planning a swap in Bham are all on this forum. And I bet you guys may have lost ONE of the people who were panning on going because of the new news of our swap. Relax a bit.

For two years I promoted MMA shows in the Birmingham and Anniston areas. If you would have told me, before I started in this hobby, that the politics were worse, I would have laughed at you. I am absolutely kicked in the face about how sensitive people are about this junk. Nobody is going to make a million dollars selling corals out of tuperware at a table in a rented hotel room. Let's just all kind of relax and get a grip on reality here. Nobdy is any worse off for the Bham swap having been planned. Take a deep breath and count to ten everyone.
