big acrylic tank with an overhang?!

I've been dreaming up a tank that overhangs by a few inches, say 2-4", out from the base it sits on-- ever since I saw the fluval edge I thought, hey that's neat, why not do that with an 8' L x4' W x2' T tank? Does anyone have any experience with acrylic and doing an overhang like this- say using 3/4" thick? Think the moment (bend) would be small enough to not induce a fracture and break such an awesome tank idea?!

Instead of the overhang you build a stand to give you the view from underneath. Build the stand to support the corners but start the cabinetry about 4-5" back. The tank will still be supported and youll have an overhang appearence.

Also FYI an associate at truvu said for liability they wouldn't build a tank with an overhang- needs full base support so the false overhang is the way to go. Thanks for the idea!
