big cube tanks

I am going to build a new home soon. I would love to see if anyone has a cube tank set up in their home that is around 300 gallons or bigger. I want to set it up like an island between the living room and kitchen where I can remove the side panels to get to the sump underneith. I want to set it up where i can have bar stools on all sides and be able to eat dinner and watch the fish while i eat. So anyone with a big cube tank I would appreciate some ideas and pic's.

I would like some ideas also. I have kinda the same plan, but with a 3' x 4' peninsula tank and only have the bar on the kitchen side. Tagging along...:)

Mine is not a cube, but is deep (5'x3') and has a bar on 2 sides...you might get some ideas for setting up the eating area surrounding it. I highly recommend using granite to surround the tank as your counter for eating. Makes the water splashing and maintenance much easier. I think you'll love the cube though. Not sure the link, but you should also try to find the thread for untamed's 400 gal tank.

does anybody actually have a true cube? Seems like all these cube post are just square based tanks. I haven't seen a tank that is 4x4x4 yet, that would be a cube...

A true 4' cube would be nearly impossible to do maintenance on...you would need to dive in, but the 4x4 footprint really isnt big enough for that. I've seen a few 2' true cubes, but none that large...

well, I am not looking for a true cube. I want somthing around 48x48x24. about 24-30" on height. One of the LFS I regularly visit has a 4x4x3 and it is beautiful.

I have a glass 60x60x30 and a 96x30x30 and I prefer the "presence" of the long tank;)

Kind of an older picture, but here is the 6' x 6' x 2' tank at my store.

And a 4' x 4' x 2' tank at home.

These are all great looking tanks. When I get mine I want the overflow in the middle with all the rock around the overflow like a volcanoe.

I love my Wavebox. I do not have it set at it's highest flow...it is about 3/4 strength. Love the type of flow it creates versus powerheads.
