big nem vs small

I just had a pretty simple question. Is it easier to take care of a medium (about 6 inch diameter) GBTA, or a smaller (2.5 inch) RBTA? and does the care level change if the RBTA has true "bubble tips" or if its tentacles are normal?

if you have the room, I'd say it probably doesn't matter. Personally, I've found the non-bulbous rbta to be hardier than the bulbous type, although either can develop bulby tenatacles or more narrow ones.

I'd say there is no difference at all. They all require the same level of care. Bubbles vs. no bubbles- some will say they display bubbles when happy (not hungry) and long non bubbly tentacles when hungry. Mine have never displayed bubble tips and have been in my tank for over 2 years. They are healty and well fed. Size really only matters if your tank is too small or if you have a very large hosting fish that could beat it up.

I will say that a larger anemone will fare better if you have clownfish that want to host. For example, over-eager maroon clowns are well known for "loving" smaller bubble tip anemones to death.

If you really like them, why not get both? BTA's are all the same species, so they can't sting one another. They coexist peacefully. :) I keep one of each kind (red and green) and it looks fantastic.

One issue with a smaller one is if you are keeping a clown ( or a pair ) that they will be harder on it, and in some cases my love it to death.
