TMPCC.. i am making th wc water rite now.. should i wait until i do the WC to change the carbon?? my toal volume is around 60G.. i am doing a 9G wc is that enough??i happened overnight and the others kind of slowly over the past week.. i got a frag from someone that RTN'd and since then i have been having problems.. i did not have any problems up until that happened.. im almost ready to go just LPS..

It is also possible your alk is a bit high. When mine drops below 7.7 dkh I can and do get recession on a few select sps that can turn into rtn. Also not knowing what your PO4 is hinders what we can point out. IMO if you don't know I would say its higher than it should be .

Also TMPCC isn't going to help with the rtn you are stressing the coral more.

dont touch anything and add some extra iodine to the tank. pulling the corals out or fragging them will cause tissue with the bacteria on it to transfer to other corals. the best thing is to wait it out.

thanks.. i'll just let things go a little.. im doing the water change and switching out the carbon.. and add some phos remover.. 9.8 is high for alk?? i have seen some running it at 11.. i think my calcium is a bit high though.. also when you say the bacteria will transfer, i should just let them die?? if the tissue is coming of wouldnt it go into the water column anyway??

If you have a metal halide bulb check it and see if it is cracked. If so, harmful UV radiation could be the problem.

Tropoasis swears by Seachem Reef Dip. Apply at full strength to affected areas with a Q-tip or similar.

Thats funny I have talked to Frank many times and gave him my first experiences with TMPCC before he had it avail to him and he has never mention sea chem as a matter of fact he carries TMPCC with hm when he visits clubs. But I have heard he says its not 100% effective against RB's. My experience differes. But for me I used it for AEFW's

Frank did a presentation recently for our club on quarantine systems and disease treatments. He described a variety of medications and their applications.

He did talk about TMPCC. He also recommended the full strength Reef Dip for stn/rtn rather than fragging past the affected area.
