Big tank skimmer, Help me choose

Red Dragons!
I plan on having a 600g and a 300g plumbed together at the sump, so around 1000g. I like fish so I will have a big bioload. I was planning on building a skimmer so I bought a 5 foot stick of 16" PVC pipe. But now I'm thinking that I better just get a real one. Please let me know what you think. The only large skimmer I know of is an RK2, I would like a few options. Thanks

You can contact any of the skimmer fabricators and they can build a skimmer to meet your needs. Its all about the $$$$$$$$ at 1000 gallons anyhooo and I wouldn't think you would be to concerned with that if you are properly planning for it. I was at IMAC this year and the new craze is the needle wheel recirculation skimmers. Contact GEO and see what he can do for you.

you could go with a big downdraft skimmer if electricity isn't as big a concern or a nw skimmer if it is. in general, the former is a cheaper startup cost and the latter can be beastly early but with lower electricity bills later.

Contact spazz(Scott) he built my custom skimmer and I just love it.

reefwonders is that set up in your living room? My wife would never go for that, but it would be awesome!

That skimmer was a joke, you can def. go with an Deltec or H&S, I would go BK if you have the cash. I'm sure everyone here will tell you dont go cheap on the skimmer, as it is an very important part for your setup. My skimmer is running me $1200+ for my 210.

HOLLY SKIMMER BAT MAN.... but hey forget the skimmer...

look at that guys sick mullet on the left to the skimmer!

Deltec, H & S or Bubble King would be my advice. I personally run a Deltec 902 and love it. Doug at Deltec will also give you the best service around as well as help you with any questions.

I run a Geo duel bekkit on my 800 gallon system and if you dont want to mess with a skimmer daily I would not get a bekkit IMO.
