Big Ugly Starfish for Sale or Loan

Since I moved him to a 24G Nano, my big ugly bristle starfish has "lost weight". His head has gone down from the size of a half dollar to about the size of a quarter or less. I think he is undernourished in my smaller tank with more careful feedings.

He is great at picking up the excess food in a tank. I thought I was feeding him enough. Could be that he just can't stretch out anymore with the big maroon clown claiming the entire tank for herself.

I'll sell him to a local person for $15. Another option would be a loan until I get my 75G reef tank up and going again (could be a few months, could be a year depending on when I sell the 75G tank I just broke down a few months ago).

Maybe. I might move my 75G freshwater tank from upstairs to the basement and make it FOWLR (with mushrooms and the like) and forgo the lights which generate all the heat and expense. But I have to sell my old empty tank first before I do anything. I might just keep that tank freshwater and work on getting the plants to grow out.

Starfish FREE to good home.

The maroon clown keeps cornering it and pulling bits of the tips of his legs off. He is starting to look a little beaten up. If I don't find a home for him by the end of the day tomorrow, I will take him out and euthanize him. That would be a shame since he is at least 9 years old. But I won't let him get tortured to death.

I ended up bringing him to my 10G tank at work where he promptly hid under a rock. If anybody wants him, let me know. I'll take him to the Coral Reef if nobody does and if they'll take him.

Big Ugly Starfish, R.I.P. (Rest in Pieces)

I brought him to work to see if he would recover, but he steadily went downhill and lost a lot of flesh from his body. I could see through his skeleton clear through to the other side. I went ahead and euthanized him in the middle of last week. He lived a very long life -- at least 10 years that I know of (I had him 6 years, the guy before me 3 years).
