big white spot on package

Just recieved my first shippement from Richard and was trying to identify what this large white spot is. It has gone away and is now greenish and looks to be decaying. Any answers to what is is or was. By the way the rock is AWSOME...Thanks for such great rock Richard. :strooper:

Appears to be a sponge decaying.....they usually turn white like that when on the way out......
