Big (Wide and Long) Stand question

So I just bought a tank that is 96lx48wx15h. (May be 7ft, but it is ballpark)

This isn't going to be a fancy stand build for now. I'm considering going with cinder blocks and some plywood as the stand. Would this work?

I'd probably just stack the blocks as well - and not mortar them together.

The thought would be to go with a layout like this (top view of stand:

====

= =
= =

====

So each dash would represent a block. The first two and last two rows would be butted up to each other, as would each set in the middle, for a total of 24 blocks.

Then a piece of plywood (3/4"?) on top of that, along with a sheet of 3/4" foam.

Would this work? Or do I need to make some I-Beams (2x4 beams work?) for support along the blocks?

You say 'for now'. A stand isn't exactly something that is easy to change once the tank is set up. You would have to tear the tank down completely to change it. Unless you plan on moving the tank again soon, it would probably better to spend the time and do a nice stand from the beginning.

For now = this time.

Next time this tank is set up, it will be show quality. Not this time.
