Bimaculatus Anthias Care

Hello,

I have 3 total Bimaculatus Anthis fish. I started with the two females and added the male today. I've noticed the largest female which is similar in size to the new male going after him during feeding times & in general.

Is this normal Bimaculatus behavior?

Might take a little while for the male to get comfortable and secure in the tank and show his dominance. It Could also be that your larger female is already in a stage where it's staring to turn male and that might cause an issue. I would give it sometime and see what happens. Generally It's usually best to get all females and let them decide which one will become the dominant male.

How long were the females alone without a male? Your larger female may have started the transition and you might be better off letting her change and adding another female.
