binding ingredient for DIY food

Does anyone know where to get gel binding ingredients for DIY food?
I want my food to look like the Ocean Nutrition Angel formula when I'm done. Except bigger, the size of ice cubes.

Looks like Blue Lagoon Marine Gel Food is my best bet. I found some others complaining it makes cubes that don't come apart but that is exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone use this or any other products?

Why not use regular unflavored cooking gelitan? Just disolve it in boiling water and let cool slightly, then mix in your fish food. If your food mix is real wet, only go with half or less of the boiling water on the gelitan instructions. It would stay jelled in the tank, would not melt like some frozen gel foods do, but, it is completely edible. I'm sure it is beef based, but, I don't see why that wouldn't be safe enough to use as a binding agent for reef food.
