ya you just scape the paint off of the glass. the paint is on the outside of the tank

btw, thanks for that chris, i cant believe i missed that

This thread has been put on the 4th page now. We need to keep it on the first page at all times, lol.

Anyway. To redwarrior77... I used a submergeable LED light for the refugium instead of peeling the paint off the back. Works fine for me so far.

I am curious how high people who use the middle chamber as a refugium keep the water levels at... Do you still keep it between the minimum and maximum marks or do you make the water level higher?

How high can the water level actually be without hurting anything?

What is the actual reason behind those marks? If it is only for the bioballs, then it should be safe to take the level close to the top of all 3 chambers while running, right?

Thanks.

I run mine way past the maximum line just to keep the Lr rubble and chiller pump completely submerged.

you dont have to keep your water level at the "preset" mark. you can safley fill the 2nd and 3rd chamber up all the way. you just dont want it to overflow the faux wall back into the display.

i have mine set at the "max" level. at this height you can hear the water trickling through the LR rubble, its not very noisy though. more soothing than anything.

Nice looking tank! Mine is going through the diatom bloom stage. I'm really looking forward to things clearing up and looking sharp. :D

i was looking for this thrread a week or so ago. i wanted to post a pic of my center chamber refugium.

i got this light clipped to the back of my stand and pointed into the back of the tank. i scraped all the paint off the back glass of the tank over the middle chamber. the light bulb is a 10w spiral pc. i got the bulb and the fixture for cheap at walmart.

Hey guys! I just bought my BC29 from my most awesome LFS an hour ago. :D

:inlove:

I do have one question. Does anyone know of a heater that would fit into the first chamber? I measured and it seems like an 8" one would fit... But can anyone recommend a good buy?

cut the silicone out of that plate and remove it from the 1st chamber. i used a 125w ebo jagger. Its a pain in the butt but well worth it easiest upgrade besides taking out the bioballs.

you can remove the stupid horizantal center divider in the first chamber just by cutting out some silicone??? ive been wanting to remove that divider so i can lengthen the chamber on my biocube nano skimmer. ive been wanting to buy some 2.5" acrylic tubing so i can replace the 8" long stock chamber on the bc nano skimmer with a 12" chamber. im hoping this will increase the efficiency of the skimmer by providing more reaction time within the skimmer.

I took the plunge and am waiting on my lighting upgrade from nanotuners to come in. 72w to 144w. I will post pics once I get everything settled.
