it will take a while although that skimmer I should have mentioned was not that easily to get dialed in that little adjustable check valve in the airline tubing didnt help much. Basically play with that until your getting the foam to overlow the reaction chamber while you have the collection cup off and then put the cup back on and give it a day or two, then adjust from there as needed.

I've got a 14 gal. with 1 firefish, 1 yellow watchman goby, a basic cuc(snails, hermits, and a peppermint), and some zoas and ricordia. Still adding and moving around things.

I was just wondering guys.... maybe I'm missing something.... but shouldn't the Biocube has legs that prop the whole hood open? It looks like there are notches on the rim of the tank already. Once all my wires are wire managed, it's impossible to take this hood off to do water changes, etc.

It probably should, but they don't include anything. The 14 and 8 should stay open on a 90° angle. The 29 well I don't know what people do, they may just remove it all together or mod up something. You cold make some legs of your own or just put a block under the hood to keep it open

BC29 has three chambers with the second middle chamber being the largest. The first chamber is generally used for intake, and to place a heater. The second for filtration/fuge, the third for the return pump which rests on the bottom.
here is my research tank, no life in this one, but it give you an idea of what it looks like.

Once all the wires are managed and zip tied together, it's a huge PITA to remove the whole hood. But I have to in order to do large water changes. (I can siphen out, but not in. Not holding 10g bucket above my head to allow the siphen
) One other thing I don't like is that evaporated water collects on the lid over the rear chambers. When you open that lid, the water runs down and falls through the cracks and all over the back of the tank. Lately I just tap the lid hard a few times to make the droplets fall off before opening. Just a poor design IMO.

Nice tanks guys! Im getting one of these this next weekend. Im trading a 150W pendant for a whole setup (tank,stand,heater, lights,pumps,rock,sand)! Pretty good deal for me
