It is called "Aqua-Pure Cut-To-Fit Filter Pad". They have a phosphate and a carbon version of the filter pads.
Never used them myself, but i know that they also make a nitrate removal one. In addition they(or another company) make a product thats just the same BUT it is carbon/Phos removal/Trate removal ALLINONE. Again i have no experience with any of these products, but do know they exist... and they wouldnt say it works on the package if it weren't true, right? :rolleye1:

Ok, question time, I need some help here, I currently run skimmerless (not looking to start a debate lol) anyway I have been looking to add something similar to the CPR aquafuge 2 pro, as I also want a fuge, I know most people turn chamber 2 into the fuge, but I really like the external design, so I have found this item on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hang-On-Acrylic...186252&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

and am wondering if it's worth the money, I know I will probably need to change the pump and add a light, but other than that do you see any other issues with it?? also how hard is it going to be to add, how much tank/hood modding is going to have to be done to make it fit/function? thanks a lot for any help!!

yeah, I agree on the whole grammar issue, probably being shipped out of china, but the price is good, as for the aquafuge, I had seen it, but it does not have the built in skimmer and is also wider than my biocube and I would rather not have something sticking out on the sides.....

A medium fits perfectly on a bc29. That's what I have on mine.

hi, i have the smallest of all the BC tanks(the 8) and it is very noisy and has lots of micro bubbles with the stock pump. what can i do to improve this?

Dumb question. I just got my tank filled with water and running, and my Hydor Flo is not turning. Any ideas why? Stock pump, btw.

If you're not running bio-balls in the middle chamber, add water until the noise subsides. That will ensure your return pump is always under water and not sucking air.

Forddna check the inside of the Hydor sometimes little particules get stuck inside and jams the mecanics.
Also seen some people have had to sorta kickstart them.

I have a biocube 14g and it's been up and doing pretty well for almost 1 year. However, I have a couple of questions as I move forward...

1. Replacement bulbs - I have the stock lighting, which I'm considering upgrading, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a particularly good online source for stock bulbs and also if anyone knew of a great upgrade for this size tank. My critters are happy now, but I'd have the ability to add a wider variety with a bit more light.

2. Has anyone tried the Tunze nano skimmer with the 14g? I've seen it done with many of the larger all-in-one systems, but I wasn't sure about the 14g. I'd like to add a protein skimmer at some point.

My livestock list dwindled over the winter due to an unfortunate incident involving a cold snap, my husband's well-intentioned idea to turn the heat off while we were out, and my forgetfulness leaving the stealth heater out. :( Here's what I'm down to...

1 - unidentified fish that came with my TBS rock...he's still doing good!

1 - Rock flower anemone that is SO pretty and has never moved on me...she is a sweetie and has even taken on some color this year.

1 - Giant Feather duster

1 - Red mithrax crab

1 - Brittle star...for weeks I thought he was dead and then this mornig, he came right out to eat!

3 or 4 small colonies of corals that came on the TBS rock + a few small cup corals.

My CUC has shrank to a few very hardy limpets, a couple of snails, and 1 very stubborn blueleg hermit who has hung in there. I'm making an order with reefcleaners to add more snails and more diversity there.

With a change in my finances, it looks like I'm ready to get back to building this tank up. I'm so glad I hung on to it! :)

Redwarrior- Im not familiar with the Tunze's fitament in the 14g, but I will say if you are still running your first set of bulbs in your cube you NEED to switch them out!!! Bulbs go start to go bad about the 6-8 month range. You dont often notice the color shift cuz its so gradual, but you've probly noticed an increase in algae growth. Youll be amazed on how nice itll look with new bulbs. You could also try to find a (ithink) 17" sunpod. They dont make them anymore, but they pop up on the forsale forums from time to time. I think theyre 70w halides in them.

For replacement bulbs give Nanotuners a try. They have a buy 2 get 1 free sale going on. http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=576

Sunpods are also fully adjustable, so a slightly "too big" fixture can work and may not look bad at all. I wouldn't attempt a 30" one, though!

I'd say no larger than the 24" they are what fits perfecton my bc29 so they should just be a smidge too big

Thought I would post a pic of my Biocube 14...
