Anyone else have problems with really dull moon lights on their tank? Ive had mine up and running for three years an now my moonlights won't even make it to the bottom of the tank. I've tried emailing and calling oceanic but they apparently don't like to return messages. Anyone else had this and hoe do you remedy that?
Nope. Not tempered. But take extreme care. It's not a cheap tank to replace if you crack/chip the glass while drilling.the entire back of the tank is glass, it's just painted black... and i am pretty sure its not tempered... but i would confirm first with oceanic or someone that's done it.
Maybe I'm reading your post incorrectly, but if you're talking about adding live rock to chamber #2, I would recommend against it. Keep all your live rock in the display tank, putting it in chamber #2 doesn't give you any extra benefit (versus just having it all in the DT) and it can become a bit of a maintenance hassles if a bunch of deitritus builds up in that chamber.
I modified chamber #1 by pulling out the false bottom and dremmeling out the "grate" portioin but leaving the main "frame" and replacing it so I could add a heater AND still use the filter that slides in the grooves in chamber #1...when I did this, there was SO much deitritus buildup at the bottom of the chamber, I was a bit shocked...can you say high nitrates?![]()

And I did the stand sump in my 29g.

Very nice setup!!
I think the nano Koralia is more than enough for a 29gl. Unless you want unhappy coral with a higher water current.
Haha thanks. I'll keep you guys updated with the lights. For now I am going to be pushing the lights up 10% each week until I get to 100% intensity. This way I don't melt anything.
hahaha graduation money![]()
