Anyone else have problems with really dull moon lights on their tank? Ive had mine up and running for three years an now my moonlights won't even make it to the bottom of the tank. I've tried emailing and calling oceanic but they apparently don't like to return messages. Anyone else had this and hoe do you remedy that?

i have been meaning to ask nanotuners if their drop in led heatsinks + led's could be a straight swap for the factory ones.. but yes mine suck too. I want leds... again... but t5 is cheaper, lol.

going to pick up a bc29 this weekend. looking forward to jumping back into the reef game after 5+ years out!

Yeah, I have the same problem. They are on (can see them with the hood open) but you can't see them in the water. I''d be interested in knowing what is causing that. When it was new the moon lights showed up nicely. Oh well.

my center LED went out about 2 months ago, and the two remaining ones are DIM. I know I could just throw an r2 led module in there but meh.

just got off the phone with Brian at oceanic about my really dull moon lights and he said he could either be the transformer or something in the bulbs going out. He said those are the two major causes for them to dull out. He then said he'll send me both of them and if that doesn't fix it that we can troubleshoot from there. But regardless he's sending me the new ones for free. Thought that was pretty cool of them

Maybe I'm reading your post incorrectly, but if you're talking about adding live rock to chamber #2, I would recommend against it. Keep all your live rock in the display tank, putting it in chamber #2 doesn't give you any extra benefit (versus just having it all in the DT) and it can become a bit of a maintenance hassles if a bunch of deitritus builds up in that chamber.

I modified chamber #1 by pulling out the false bottom and dremmeling out the "grate" portioin but leaving the main "frame" and replacing it so I could add a heater AND still use the filter that slides in the grooves in chamber #1...when I did this, there was SO much deitritus buildup at the bottom of the chamber, I was a bit shocked...can you say high nitrates? ;)

I popped the grate off and just slid two filters into the groves. When I do my water changes I use the siphon hose and suck all the gunk from the bottom of chamber one. I then put the siphon hose where the blue filter goes in chamber 3 and I'm able to suck all the gunk build up from the bottom of chamber 2 as well. I have cut-to-fit filter sock material in the grate of chamber 2 I rinse every week with my water change as well. No need for a chaeto ball there as I have a sump:)

Haha thanks. I'll keep you guys updated with the lights. For now I am going to be pushing the lights up 10% each week until I get to 100% intensity. This way I don't melt anything.

So what intensity are you set at now with the RKE ALC module? I'm at 40% with my Cool white and 50% with my Royal Blue. I'm kinda scared to go any higher lol
