Bio pellet induced rash?

I have a bit of an odd one occuring in my tank atm..

The pictured yellow tang has some bruising near its scapel,(the skin is not broken or lacerated) i have seen it and another of the tangs rubbing up against each other but not violently.. not enough for me to believe that the scapel is the lone cause of this redness.. the other tang does not display any of this (which would have convinced me that it was fighting between the 2 but the second tang would have had simular markings) and what is worrying is that my bicolor had it at a stage aswell (where the dorsal fin meets the top of the body..

The tang is also showing the signs of it forming along the lateral line.. (it is not HLLE)

anyone experiencing the same thing? i have never ever had this before..

i do need to check my water parameters and have not tested but i am comparing this tang to the others which have not got it and they are fine.. the bicolor hase been clear of it for about 2 weeks now...

i am starting to think is is excess bacteria from the NP pellets i am using.. as at a stage alot of mulm escaped being skimmed out and entered the DT while i was on holiday...

thoughts or simular experiences welcome...

Ditto! This is a problem ......

I have had the same healthy tangs for five years and recently started bio pellets for the first time. My tangs are showing the same problem exactly! Have you received any further information on what the connection is and adjustment needed? Otherwise, I'm taking the bio pellets off line.

Thanks for any input.

I seem to have resolved this issue and it appeared in my case that the bio pellets not tumbling had built up too much bacteria too fast. If it wasn't bacteria, it was something that made the fish develop the rash. I took the pellets offline and the rash on both fish completely cleared up under a weeks time.
I took the media reactor to my work sink and as I opened up the reactor the rancid bacteria smell was overpowering, similar to the smell of opening a bottle of microbe lift "special blend" .... I'll not use the bio pellets again until I have a proper reactor designed for better tumbling of the media. I'll also start with even less media that I used this time.
