Well i am moving and the tank is coming down, my question is can i keep my carpet anemone and 2 clarkii's in a 29 biocube? the only reason is i wont be able to set a big tank up for at least 4 months will the stock lighting of the 29 be able to keep the anemone healthy. i am only useing the 29 for a short time so i can get my new tank built and cycled

the Bio 29 was modded with L/R in middle chamber and a skimmer in the first chamber

So any other ideas would be great or am i on the right track, all my other livestock is going back to the LFS i am only keeping the clowns and the carpet You just dont give away a 10 + inch carpet.

It isn't the optimal situation, but it sounds like you are attached to them which is why you want to keep them? If you do, perhaps you should ask yourself if your desire to try to keep it, at the risk the livestocks health, is worth the potential gamble. You may want to reconsider based on that alone.

If not, perhaps someone who you know that will care for it the way you do can take it permanently or until you can get it back?

You may run into cooling issues or lighting issues or parameter issues that will be stressful. There is really no replacement for displacement.

You would need to stay on top of it. but I kept a large sebae in a 24g jbj and had no issues. It may be too small for the fish and perhaps just keeping the carpet would be better for its health and to maximize water quality in the tank? Then you could replace them later on? If the want to keep the anenome was greater than the fish, I would do that to increase my odds.

It is going to be tough, but I can understand trying to keep it.

You are going to be shocked at the amount of waste that a "carpet" will put out (( I am going to assume/hope that this is an S. Haddoni, because I don't see it working with a Gig )), and the amount that a pair of Clarkiis will put out too. At first I think you might have to do daily water changes -- at least until you get this settled in. Also, I would have a back up plan in place, in case this doesn't work.

Update. I got moved, and everyone lived the only thing is i broke the bio cube 29 so i had to buy a new one ( long story ). Now for the great news, i was on craiglist and found a 130 gallon drilled tank with sump skimmer and 2 return pumps for FREE! so i went and got it. Now comes the long process of building the stand to hold this monster and get it set up. So thats it for now but more info to come on the new home.

I successfully kept a gigantea and 2 clowns in a biocube 29 for months and it did great.

then my tank cracked and i kept all of the above in a 32g brute trash can for like 2 1/2 weeks.

all was well then too. if it's healthy it will be resilient. it showed no ill-effects even from the brute can.
