Biopellet/Skimmer & Feeding Regimen

I know several people who turn their skimmers off for 12 hours when feeding their corals. These people aren't running biopellets.
Those here that run biopellets...
Do you turn your skimmer off for hours on end, when feeding? Should I expect a large algae or film outbreak in my display if I do so?

I run bio pellets in a smr-1 reactor and never shut off the skimmer. I have had to once to treat for ich and my LFS told me to take the reactor out and just run it in a bucket with a pumps d a heater. Not that you want to do that every 12 hrs. If you want to shut something down at feeding time, I would shut down the return pump( I'm assuming you have a sump). That way you could keep the skimmer on and bio pellets would still be running too with no worries.

I've only seen positive health/growth coral results from turning the skimmer off for 6-10 hours a day. (I settled on 8)
Though I no longer run bp's I never had any issues.

You'll experience issues after 24-36 hours though, usually first event is a massive explosion of glass film/algae...
