Biopellit guestion.

I have a 35 gallon all in one. I have been running bps for a long time. I recently removed the bio pellets and installed a phosphate reactor to help with an alge problem I've been having. I was going to start the bio pellets back up. However the vertex pellets I got say that it is not recommended to use phosphate remover with the pellets? Is this really true? My nitrates are a little high. When I was using my bps they were basically undetectable. Kinda want to get them back down there. Has anyone run both? I was planning on keeping my phosban running in a reactor until my hair alge is gone. Now my nitrates are creeping up and my phosphate is undetectable. I'm trying to find a balance.

Try not to feed so much and no also help with phosphate but a water should bring a lot of it down. Also I read and head the same to not run both types of carbon dosing. So don't try

U need to have both PO4 and NO3 . Unless you are running ulns.
Otherwise keep PO4 around 0.02 to 0.08. NO3 should be around 2 to 10

So is it okay to run both? The bio pellets are a form of carbon dosing. The phosguarde is for phosphates. I'm not sure why I can't use both. It just says not to on the by bag.

You can run both but don't let phosphate get too low. As mentioned .02-.08 or so is ideal. If phosphate goes to zero your corals will have issues and also your nitrate may start to rise.

You can run both. No issue
