Bird Wrasse has been overthrown!

The king of my 75 gal FOWLR was my small green bird wrasse. 2 days ago, we added a mild mannered juvenile emperor angel. They got along like perfect buddies. Today I found the fish we've always wanted- Austrailian Harlequin Tusk. He was about the same size as the bird wrasse. All of a sudden, the bird wrasse has become a nasty aggressor toward the tusk. I removed the bird wrasse and exhiled him to my QT.

Here's my question: if I give him a couple of days to chill in the QT while I rearrange the rocks in my show tank, can I re-introduce the bird wrasse? Like he's in a new home? The new guy on the block? Or will he be onto my scheme and continue to be an a-s-s-wrasse?

I would recommend you read up on tank sizes for the fish you currently have. All of them require a much larger aquarium. To answer your question, yes usually rearranging rock work helps keep the aggression down when reintroducing an aggressor.

As they say, the best laid plans...Then again, I have a yellow tang in my 29gal right now; but I have a 125 in the garage that is halfway through drilling that'll be up in a few weeks.

They're just babies right now and we are moving in a few months. Gives us just enough time to put together a custom 190 gal for our new home. We're only moving a few miles away. And these 3 are the only ones in the tank. That's why we got them now-- as babies.

I dont think rearranging the rocks will make much difference. I think you have to make a choice on who you want to keep. You shouldve waited until you upgraded to purchase the tusk.
