Birdmouth Wrasse

Went to the LFS today that stocks a good suppy of SW fish and really thought the Bird Mouth Wrasse was very cool!

Anyone have any experience with them in a reef tank?

Did a search that came up with nothing.

Thanks!

Just recently I had a conversation with a guy I know that works at a reef shop. He had one in a 75-gallon tank and had to bring it back to the shop because it got too big and aggressive for his tank. I don't know if they all behave that way but maybe you can watch one for a while in a local fish store and see how it behaves. It isn't a fool-proof way to determine how it would behave in a tank with fish other than the kinds in the tank with it there, but it might tell you something.

We've got a 6" bird wrasse at work in a 110g predator tank with a Volitans lionfish, a Hawaiian dragon eel, a scorpionfish and a little 'sea goblin'. Nice fish with a fairly easygoing temperment (at least with the above fish), but they get pretty big and need room to swim.

I had one before and had to return it back to the fish store because it ran right through my hermit crab population.
