Birdnest id with pics ?

Anyone know what the name of this birdnest is? i have looked at hundreds of pictures online and haven't found one like it yet. Its all green but it doesnt have the pink or purple tips like some birdnest have.

Looks like a Seriatopora hystrix to me. Keep in mind that there are lots of factors that will effect how a coral grows out. Differences in lighting, flow and general husbandry can all have a dramatic impact on how SPS appear.

i dont think its ponape bnest, ponape has purple tips and they sharper. IMO

"ponape" is a S. hystrix that has the coloration of green growth with pink tips and purple polyps. Iirc.

Your coral looks like it's a green type of S. hystrix

The lighting is very blue. You happen to have a pic with less blue so we can better see the colors?

It is not a great pic and it is from a month ago when i got it. It has doubled in size since then and it has a bit less of a pink tint to it and now its more green. the weird thing is, it is starting to encrust on the plug and from my experiance and from what i have read birdnest do not encrust.

I have kept a couple species of Seriatopora, and while they don't encrust like Acropora will, they definitely can encrust.

I have a tubbs purple polyp birdsnest that looks close to yours. Only mine is more green base and darker purple polyps but looked just like yours before it colored up.

I have the same one. I like it as you dont see it all that often. When it "colors" up as suggested it wont look anything like tubs. It will just get a brighter pink body and yellower/greener tips....

pretty much the reverse color scheme of the ponape
